The Skilled Independent (Subclass 190) is a point-based system implemented to hire international skilled workers to live and work in Australia who are nominated by the state or government agency and meet the migration point test. This is a permanent visa and allows visa-holders to remain in Australia indefinitely with full work rights.

Candidates must submit an Expression of Interest through Skillselect and be invited to apply for this visa. Candidates must score at least 65 points or more. Below following are some of the major factors on the basis of which 65 points are awarded to make you eligible for this visa

Subclass 190 Eligibility Criteria:

  • You age must be below 45 years, to apply for this visa
  • You must have an experience in a nominated occupation from Skilled Occupation List
  • You must have proficient in at least competent English
  • You must score minimum 65 points specified in your visa application
  • You must have Skill assessed by the relevant assessing authority
  • You must meet the health and character requirements

English Language Ability:

  • At least 50 in each of four test components in Pearson Test of English (PTE)
  • At least 6 in each of four test components in International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Or Equivalent Score in TOFEL iBT, OET & CAE
